Our 5th away win in a row!

Writer: Philip Ian MurrayPhilip Ian Murray

An unchanged side away to a very good Bournemouth team and I would have been satisfied if we got a point out of the game. The first half was end to end with Bournemouth having several chances before the 17th minute when Mbeumo (who had another relatively quiet game) didn't track back enough and allowed their left back to cross and the ball hit Janelt and went in as an own goal to gve them the lead. Then we had several excellent chances to equalise but finally did in the 30th minute when Wissa rose high above their defenders to head in a Mbeumo corner. Then we had another few chances to take the lead but Bournemouth hit back with a few chances of their own, but the first half ended 1-1. Immediately after the restart the Cherries should have retaken the lead when a header smashed against the bar. Then having soaked up Bournemouth’s pressure, the Bees delivered a sucker punch. In the 71st minute Schade’s (who won almost every header on the left wing) long throw from the right bounced through to Nørgaard at the front post and the skipper blasted in from close range to give us the lead. Bournemouth tried hard to equalise but our defence stood firm and we ended with another away win 1-2. Collins, Damsgaard and Flekken all played well. This was our 50th PL victory. No club has reached that milestone faster since 1995. Now we have the International break.
