Another away win and a clean sheet!

Writer: Philip Ian MurrayPhilip Ian Murray

Thank goodness Potter is having almost the same start at West Ham as he did as manager of Chelsea. A bit like the reverse fixture in September, when we scored after only 38 seconds, we took the lead in the 4th minute. Wissa's lofted pass was nodded on by Mbeumo and Schade raced clear. Their keeper saved his initial shot, then clawing away a second attempt with the ball looping back over him and towards goal, before it appeared that he had fantastically kept out a third attempt. Fortunately, goal-line technology confirmed that the ball had gone over the line. We were in complete control for much of the first half. Schade hit the outside of the post and Wissa twice had goals ruled out for offside. The second of those came after what had appeared to be a fine move until VAR intervened and found that Ajer had been offside in the build-up. The Hammers significantly improved in the second half but were unable to find a way through a resolute Bees defence and the game ended with a 0-1 victory.
